Luis Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique delivered a mixed and somewhat contradictory assessment ahead of his team’s crucial UEFA Champions League Matchday 5 fixture against Tottenham.

Opening his press conference, the Spaniard reflected on the sides’ most recent encounter - the UEFA Super Cup showdown earlier this season:

“It’s a good memory because everything ended well,” he said. “But also a bad one, if you think about the first 60 minutes, when we were struggling. Now we are better prepared. We want to dominate and win the match. It will be difficult, but we are playing at Parc des Princes and hope to deliver a great performance for our fans.”

He also praised Tottenham’s strong form:

“Tottenham started the season very well and are still unbeaten in the Champions League. Most of their players are internationals. It’s a strong team.”

It’s worth recalling that their August meeting was only settled via penalty shoot-out, highlighting just how evenly matched these sides can be.
