Leeds United snapped their four-match losing streak with a statement win

Leeds United snapped their four-match losing streak with a statement win that struck directly at the ambitions of Chelsea. From the opening minutes, Daniel Farke’s side dictated the tempo and were rewarded early on: Jaka Bijol headed in a precise cross from Stach, and just before half-time Tanaka punished Enzo Fernández for a costly mistake deep in his own area.

Chelsea briefly came alive after the break, with Neto pulling one back, but the visitors’ hopes quickly collapsed following a dreadful error by Tosin Adarabioyo. The defender underhit a back pass to Robert Sánchez, allowing Noah Okafor to pounce and square the ball to Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the easiest of finishes.

Cole Palmer squandered a late chance that could have given Chelsea a lifeline, and the Blues now slip to fourth place, drifting nine points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race. Meanwhile, Leeds United climb to 17th, finally escaping the relegation zone.
