Atalanta - Cagliari 2:1

Atalanta returned to winning ways in Serie A with a hard-fought 2–1 home victory over Cagliari, inspired by a decisive double from Gianluca Scamacca in Round 15 of the Italian top flight.

The Italy international was the standout performer on the night, delivering when it mattered most. Scamacca struck the crucial second goal in the 81st minute, a moment that ultimately separated the two sides in Bergamo and reignited Atalanta’s momentum in the league.

Atalanta controlled large spells of the match but were forced to stay alert until the very end. Late drama followed when Cagliari thought they had snatched an equaliser in stoppage time, sending shockwaves through the stadium.

However, celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled out for offside against Michael Folorunsho, sparing the hosts and allowing Atalanta to cling on to their narrow advantage.
