Arsenal - Aston Villa 4:1

Aston Villa arrived with unstoppable momentum — 11 consecutive victories across all competitions — but if anyone was capable of ending that remarkable run, it was always going to be Arsenal. And they did it in emphatic fashion.

The first half at the Emirates Stadium ended goalless, a tight and tense affair that hinted at a tactical battle. But once the second half began, Arsenal shifted through the gears — and the contest was effectively decided within minutes.

The Gunners struck twice in quick succession at the start of the second half, ripping control away from Aston Villa and exposing defensive gaps that had rarely been seen during their winning streak. With confidence flowing, Arsenal showed no mercy, adding two more goals to turn a statement performance into a rout.

Avoiding complete humiliation was left to Ollie Watkins. The striker’s well-taken goal provided a rare moment of relief for Aston Villa, offering at least some consolation on a night where little else went right.
