Manchester United held again as questions continue to grow

Manchester United were forced to settle for another draw, this time away at an in-form Leeds United, extending their frustrating run without a win. On one hand, a point at Elland Road is never easily earned — Leeds are now unbeaten in seven matches. On the other, the spotlight on head coach Ruben Amorim is only becoming brighter.

The hosts started with intensity, but it was Manchester United who created the first real moment of danger. Matheus Cunha fired the ball into the net from outside the box, only for the move to be halted earlier by an offside flag against the visitors.

Leeds responded with a huge chance of their own. Rising highest to meet a cross from the right, Dominic Calvert-Lewin powered a header against the far post, inches away from opening the scoring. United quickly hit back, as Leny Yoro connected with a header from a set-piece, but a sharp save from Lucas Perri kept the hosts level.

The match opened up after the break, and on 62 minutes Leeds United finally made the breakthrough. A defensive lapse allowed Brenden Aaronson to race through one-on-one, and the American calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

However, Manchester United responded almost immediately. Just three minutes later, Joshua Zirkzee split the defence with a perfectly weighted vertical pass, sending Cunha clear. The Brazilian kept his composure, guiding a precise finish into the far corner to make it 1–1.
