London club announced that the 41-year-old Englishman has signed a long-term contract

Chelsea have officially confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the first team. The London club announced that the 41-year-old Englishman has signed a long-term contract running until the summer of 2032, underlining the board’s belief in a long-term project.

Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge with a steadily growing reputation. He previously worked at Derby County and Hull City. In 2024, he took charge of Strasbourg in Ligue 1 — a club closely linked to Chelsea through shared ownership, often viewed as part of the wider BlueCo football structure.

His appointment follows the departure of Enzo Maresca, who left the club late last year after growing disagreements with the board. Despite delivering a historic triumph by winning the first-ever expanded FIFA Club World Cup, Maresca’s Chelsea side struggled for consistency in the current season, a factor that ultimately strained relations at boardroom level.
