Upamecano to stay at Bayern, no move to Real Madrid or Barcelona

Bayern Munich have secured the future of central defender Dayot Upamecano, with the French international set to remain at the club despite strong interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Bayern have reached an agreement with the player on a contract extension.
Romano reports that the 27-year-old is expected to sign a new deal running until 2030 in the near future. His current contract was due to expire on 30 June 2026.
The negotiations have been long and complex. Recently, Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß admitted in an interview with Kicker: “I would be very happy if Dayo decided to stay at Bayern. He and his family live very well in Munich. However, I fear that his agents are doing everything possible to push him towards leaving.” Hoeneß also promised to speak to the player personally in order to clarify the situation.
As things stand, that intervention appears to have paid off, with Upamecano now committed to his future in Munich.
