Marseille and head coach Roberto De Zerbi have agreed to part ways by mutual consent, the Ligue 1 club confirmed in an official statement.

The decision was taken following a meeting involving the club’s owner, president, director of football and the head coach himself. Marseille stressed that the move was a collective and carefully considered step, driven by the sporting objectives for the final part of the season.

In recent weeks, Marseille have suffered a series of damaging defeats, missing out on the Champions League play-offs and enduring a heavy 0–5 loss in a high-profile clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
