Inter Milan missed a golden opportunity to edge closer to the Serie A title after surrendering a two-goal lead against Torino in a pulsating encounter. What looked like a routine win for the visitors turned into a frustrating draw, as the hosts produced a spirited late comeback.

The Nerazzurri struck first through Marcus Thuram, who powered in a header from a pinpoint delivery by Federico Dimarco. That assist was more than just decisive and it etched Dimarco’s name into the record books, as he set a new Serie A benchmark for the most assists in a single season by a defender.

Early in the second half, Yann Bisseck doubled Inter’s advantage, once again finishing from another Dimarco assist, underlining the Italian’s outstanding influence on the game. At 2-0, Inter Milan appeared firmly in control.

But Torino had other ideas. Giovanni Simeone ignited the comeback with a clinical finish, injecting belief into the home side. Moments later, Nikola Vlašić calmly converted from the penalty spot after a handball inside the box, leveling the score and setting up a tense finale.
