Chelsea - Nottingham Forest 1:3

Nottingham Forest delivered a statement victory in their fight for Premier League survival, dismantling Chelsea 3–1 at Stamford Bridge. The result lifts Forest six points clear of the relegation zone, while the London side’s hopes of a top-five finish are now mathematically over. Despite rotating his squad, Vitor Pereira has now extended his side’s unbeaten run to seven matches, underlining a resurgence at a crucial stage of the campaign.

The visitors came out with intent and stunned the hosts early on. Inside the opening 15 minutes, Taiwo Awoniyi rose highest to head home before Igor Jesus confidently converted from the penalty spot, giving Forest a commanding lead. Chelsea had a golden opportunity to respond, but Cole Palmer failed to convert his spot-kick, summing up a frustrating night for the Blues. After the break, Awoniyi struck again, finishing off a well-worked move set up by substitute Morgan Gibbs-White, effectively putting the game beyond reach.

There was, however, a concern for Forest as Gibbs-White was forced off with a head injury, potentially ruling him out ahead of a crucial UEFA Europa League semi-final. It slightly dampened what was otherwise a near-perfect evening for the visitors.

Chelsea managed a late consolation in stoppage time, as Joao Pedro produced a spectacular overhead kick to end the club’s goal drought. But it proved little more than a footnote, as the Blues slumped to a sixth consecutive defeat. The result leaves Chelsea down in ninth place, while Nottingham Forest, now on 42 points, take a significant step toward securing their Premier League status.
