Missing out on Europe’s elite competition would represent a major sporting and financial setback for one of Italy’s most historic clubs

Juventus suffered a damaging 2-0 defeat against Fiorentina in the penultimate round of the Serie A season, leaving the Turin giants in serious danger of missing out on qualification for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League.

In what was widely viewed as one of the most decisive fixtures in the battle for a top-four finish, Juventus failed to deliver under pressure at home. Despite Fiorentina having little left to play for in terms of league objectives, the visitors produced an energetic and clinical performance to stun the Allianz Stadium.

Goals from Cher Ndour and Rolando Mandragora secured a deserved victory for the Florence side, while the hosts struggled to create momentum in a tense and increasingly frustrating evening for the home supporters.

The result leaves Juventus two points behind both AC Milan and Roma, who currently occupy third and fourth place respectively heading into the final round of the Serie A campaign.

With qualification for the Champions League now hanging in the balance, pressure is rapidly intensifying around Juventus. Missing out on Europe’s elite competition would represent a major sporting and financial setback for one of Italy’s most historic clubs.
