Neymar Suffers Injury Blow Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026

Neymar has suffered another setback ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, raising fresh concerns for both Brazil and Santos supporters. The Brazilian forward picked up a right calf injury during Santos’ heavy 0-3 defeat to Coritiba last Sunday.
The news was officially confirmed by Santos medical coordinator Rodrigo Zogaib, who revealed that the injury affects Neymar’s right calf. Despite the timing of the problem, the club’s medical staff remain optimistic about the player’s recovery process.
According to Zogaib, the rehabilitation period is expected to last between five and ten days. Santos’ primary objective is to ensure that Neymar joins the Brazil national team in full fitness ahead of the global tournament.
Under the current schedule, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star is set to report to Brazil’s training camp on May 27, the official start date of the squad’s World Cup preparations under legendary head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
At the 2026 World Cup, Brazil have been drawn into Group C, where they will face Morocco on June 14, Haiti on June 20, and Scotland on June 25.
