Arda Turan Named UPL Manager of the Season After Domestic Title and European Surge

The Ukrainian Premier League has officially concluded its 2025/26 campaign by celebrating its individual triumphs, with Shakhtar Donetsk manager Arda Turan voted the UPL Manager of the Season.
Following a comprehensive poll of all 16 top-flight clubs, the young Turkish tactician claimed the prestigious crown after a sensational debut year in Ukraine. Turan successfully wrestled the league title back to Shakhtar and orchestrated an unforgettable European adventure, guiding the Miners to a historic UEFA Conference League semi-final.
With clubs prohibited from nominating their own personnel, Turan achieved near-unanimous support across the league, appearing on 14 out of a possible 15 ballots across the league.
Turan faced fierce competition from Vitaliy Ponomarov, the mastermind behind the season's surprise package, LNZ Cherkasy. Ponomarov, who pushed Shakhtar all the way to finish as a historic and thoroughly unexpected UPL runner-up, appeared on 13 ballots to narrowly miss out on the top prize.
Last year's award recipient, Ruslan Rotan, rounded out the top three. The former international midfielder consolidated his reputation as one of the country's elite tactical minds by guiding Polissya Zhytomyr to third place, securing the highest league finish in the club's history.
