England Confirm Trevoh Chalobah as Tino Livramento's Replacement

England have been forced into a late squad change ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, with Tino Livramento officially ruled out through injury and Trevoh Chalobah called up as his replacement.
The England Football Association confirmed that the Newcastle United defender has suffered a calf injury and will play no part in the tournament. The setback comes after Livramento picked up the problem during a training session on Sunday, just days before England's opening Group Stage fixture against Croatia.
In response, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has been drafted into the squad under FIFA's pre-tournament replacement regulations. Players who suffer a serious injury or illness can be replaced up to 24 hours before their nation's first match of the competition.
Chalobah, who has one senior international appearance to his name, will join the England camp immediately after the match against Croatia. The defender is travelling to the team's training base in Kansas City, while the remainder of the squad heads to Dallas for their tournament opener.
