Czech Republic - Mexico 0:3

The Czech Republic endured a disappointing end to their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, finishing bottom of Group A after a comprehensive defeat that exposed many of the problems which had plagued them throughout the tournament.

The Czechs failed to record a single victory and exit the World Cup with a goal difference of 2-6. More concerning than the statistics, however, was the lack of attacking threat and consistency that defined their performances from start to finish.

There were moments when the Czech Republic attempted to impose themselves on the game. At times they enjoyed spells of possession and managed to wrestle back the initiative, but their efforts rarely translated into genuine danger in the final third.

The convincing victory allowed the hosts to complete the group stage with an impressive record of three wins from three matches - one of the standout teams of the opening phase of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
