Despite being reduced to 10 men midway through the second half, the tournament hosts remained firmly in control and rarely allowed Bosnia and Herzegovina to threaten a comeback.

Folarin Balogun gave the United States the breakthrough after a lively attacking display, continuing his impressive tournament form. However, the striker's evening took an unexpected turn when he was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge in the middle of the second half.

Even with a numerical disadvantage, United States maintained their discipline and defensive organisation. Malik Tillman wrapped up the victory late in the game, scoring from a free kick.
