Manchester City and Inter Milan produced an entertaining pre-season contest as two of Europe's elite clubs continued their preparations for the new campaign. After a 1-1 draw in normal time, the Italian side held their nerve to secure a 3-1 victory in the penalty shootout.

Manchester City broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Divin Mubama finished confidently from close range after an excellent delivery from Antoine Semenyo. Inter Milan responded swiftly, levelling the score just six minutes later as Federico Dimarco cut the ball back from the byline for Benjamin Pavard, who fired home from the centre of the penalty area.

The match was ultimately decided from the penalty spot, where Inter Milan proved far more clinical. Misses from Rayan Aït-Nouri, Abdukodir Khusanov and Nico O'Reilly handed the initiative to the Serie A giants, who wrapped up a 3-1 shootout victory to finish the evening on a winning note.
