Barcelona secured another three points to return to the top of La Liga, producing a convincing victory over Rayo Vallecano on home soil in the third round of the Spanish championship.

The visitors stunned Barcelona by taking an early lead after a rapid counter-attack, but the setback only sparked a response from the hosts. Raphinha and teenage winger Lamine Yamal turned the game around before half-time, putting Barcelona firmly in control.

After the break, an own goal from Rayo Vallecano, a second strike from Raphinha to complete his brace and a late finish from Lamine Yamal completed a dominant display from Hansi Flick's side.

The result gives Barcelona a third consecutive victory at the start of the campaign. The Catalan giants also move above Real Madrid at the summit of La Liga on goal difference.
