Cristiano Ronaldo no longer plans to represent Portugal and will not play for the national team again, according to prominent Portuguese pundit and commentator Rui Santos, who claims the veteran captain is "definitely not coming back."
Although the forward’s 30-day internal suspension expires on October 30, Ronaldo has reportedly requested not to be considered for selection ahead of November’s Nations League fixtures against Denmark and Wales.
Santos revealed that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has grown deeply disillusioned with the leadership of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Ronaldo reportedly feels mistreated, misled, and ultimately betrayed by federation hierarchy, maintaining he owes nothing to anyone. While privately acknowledging some of his actions during the controversial walkout in Copenhagen were excessive, he remains firmly convinced that his underlying stance was justified.
Federation president Pedro Proença is understood to be making daily attempts to reach out to the forward in a bid to broker peace, but Santos insists the rift has escalated beyond repair, describing the relationship as having reached an impasse that appears virtually impossible to bridge.
