Mclaren driver Lando Norris was unable to turn his pole position into victory at the Spanish Grand Prix

Mclaren driver Lando Norris was unable to turn his pole position into victory at the Spanish Grand Prix.

The Englishman lost the lead in the first turn, letting ahead both lMax Verstappen and George Russell. As a result, it was Russell who was the first at the start of the race, but Verstappen quickly took the lead back and made no more mistakes until the checkered flag. Mclaren did everything during the race so that Norris could catch up to the Dutchman, however these efforts were not enough - Lando was again only second.

"Second place doesn't matter. I should have won the start. The car was amazing. I deserved better," Norris said immediately after the race.

The final position on the podium was taken by Lewis Hamilton, for whom this is the first top-3 finish since last year's Mexican Grand Prix.
