Roma pursued Xavi before turning to Ivan Juric
Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni (Corriere dello Sport) reveals that Roma reached out to former FC Barcelona head coach and club legend Xavi Hernandez, who recently concluded his tenure with Barcelona. The Catalan coach, however, declined the offer politely.
Roma also considered candidates such as Francesco Farioli and Stefano Poli. Eventually, Roma appointed Croatian Ivan Juric, hoping he could rejuvenate a team that had accrued only six points from five Serie A matches in the 2024/2025 season.
