Bundesliga: Bayer wins after two draws in a row
In the seventh Bundesliga round Bayer finally broke the series of two draws by defeating Eintracht.
The teams started the match at a blistering pace. In the first minute Granit Xhaka struck a powerful shot from distance, but the ball flew a few centimetres over the crossbar. And in the 9th minute Boniface should have scored, but the Bayer striker failed to beat the visitors' goalkeeper Trapp from the penalty spot.
In response, Marmusz hit the bar with a shot from outside the box and a few minutes later showed Boniface how to shoot from the penalty spot to leave no chance for the goalkeeper.
Bayer got back in 25 minutes, when Andrich shot into the bottom corner. And the victory for the hosts in the 72nd minute was achieved thanks to Boniface, who headed the ball under the bar - 2:1 victory for Leverkusen.
