Bayer Leverkusen

Xabi Alonso’s time at Bayer Leverkusen may be nearing its conclusion, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025. Despite his notable success at the club, it seems unlikely that the Spanish coach will extend his stay in Leverkusen.

According to reports from German insider Florian Plettenberg, Leverkusen is already considering their next move and has identified two potential replacements. Among the top candidates are Sebastian Hoeneß, who guided VfB Stuttgart to an impressive campaign last season, and Sandro Wagner, currently serving on Julian Nagelsmann’s coaching staff with the German national team.

Alonso, meanwhile, has garnered significant interest from Real Madrid, where he made a name for himself as a player. Additionally, there are whispers that Manchester City could target Alonso as a future replacement for Pep Guardiola, should the legendary coach decide to move on.
