Red Bull team leader scores a crucial victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix

Red Bull team leader Max Verstappen scored a crucial victory in the battle for the 2024 season title.

The Dutchman started today only 17th after an unsuccessful qualifying and engine change, but in the rain race he quickly broke into the points. Max later made the most of the restart after Franco Colapinto's crash, coming out on top mid-race and not giving up the lead to anyone until the chequered flag.

Second and third places were sensationally taken by Alpine drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, who also made the most of the race restart. But for Lando Norris today's race was a failure - the Englishman went for a tyre change shortly before Colapinto's crash and as a result was behind the leading group. Mclaren driver could not break through to the podium, instead falling back to sixth place because of his own mistakes.
