Luís Castro

Santos FC, one of Brazil’s most storied football clubs, has reportedly shown interest in appointing former Al-Nassr head coach Luís Castro.

Recent History

Castro, currently unattached, was dismissed by Al-Nassr earlier this season following a disappointing run of results, which included losing the Saudi Super Cup and managing just one win in the first three league games.

According to Globo, Santos is considering multiple options, with Renato Gaúcho, the current Grêmio manager, also in the mix. However, Castro appears to be the club's priority due to his proven ability to develop young talent—a key focus for Santos.

Previous Success in Brazil

This wouldn’t be Castro’s first stint in Brazil. The Portuguese manager previously led Botafogo during the 2022-2023 season, earning widespread praise for his tactical approach and squad development. His experience in South American football, coupled with his international pedigree, makes him an appealing candidate for Santos as they look to rebuild their fortunes.
