Spanish Super Cup

FC Barcelona has officially announced its squad for the upcoming Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Athletic. The biggest surprise is the inclusion of midfielder Dani Olmo and forward Pau Víctor, who were previously ineligible for the second half of the La Liga season due to the club’s financial constraints.

Both players joined the Catalan giants in the summer of 2024, but La Liga removed them from the official roster on January 1 after Barça failed to register them by December 31. During that same period, the league approved the addition of defender Andreas Christensen to the squad.

The semifinal showdown between FC Barcelona and Athletic is set for January 8.
