Barcelona</b> are hoping for some long-awaited good news from the medical department

Barcelona are hoping for some long-awaited good news from the medical department ahead of their upcoming La Liga clash with Elche. Two of the team’s key players — Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo — could make their return to the matchday squad as early as this weekend.

Both stars took part in a full training session with the first team earlier today, marking a major step in their recovery process. Head coach Hansi Flick will now consult with the club’s medical staff before deciding whether to include either player in the final squad list.

Lewandowski and Olmo picked up muscle injuries during October’s international break and have been sidelined ever since. Their potential return comes at a crucial moment for the Catalan giants, who have lost two of their last three La Liga fixtures and slipped behind Real Madrid in the standings.
