West Ham has stirred up the English transfer market. The London club made an attempt to sign Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán. The Hammers submitted an official bid of £57 million for the Colombian player. However, Aston Villa immediately rejected the offer. The 21-year-old Colombian striker is not being considered for a transfer out of the club.

Durán has scored 12 goals in 27 matches for the Birmingham side. West Ham had the opportunity to sign Durán this summer but decided against paying £40 million for the forward at the time. Judging by their January activity, the club seems to regret that decision.
