Official: Bayern Munich Extends Joshua Kimmich's Contract Until 2029
The speculation surrounding Joshua Kimmich's future at Bayern Munich has finally come to an end. The German club has officially announced that they have extended the midfielder's contract until June 30, 2029, securing his services for the long term.
This summer marks 10 years since Kimmich, now 30, joined Bayern from RB Leipzig. Over the past decade, the German national team captain has been instrumental in the club's success, winning eight Bundesliga titles, the Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
"At FC Bayern I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals," said Kimmich. ". That is what my decision was based on. For me at the moment, there is no better package of team-mates, coaching staff and club environment in order to achieve maximum success. I feel at home here and I am not finished yet."
Kimmich has been a cornerstone of Bayern's success, making 429 official appearances, scoring 43 goals, and providing 115 assists.
