Oleksandr Zinchenko

Borussia Dortmund has identified Arsenal full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko as a backup option in their pursuit of defensive reinforcements. However, the Ukrainian’s potential move to the Bundesliga giants hinges on the outcome of ongoing negotiations with Chelsea.

The priority target for Dortmund remains Renato Veiga, the versatile Portuguese defender currently on the books at Chelsea. The German side is looking to secure Veiga on loan, but financial disagreements are proving to be a stumbling block in negotiations.

Should Chelsea reject Dortmund's offer for Veiga, the club will shift its focus to Zinchenko. However, signing the Arsenal left-back could present financial challenges for the Bundesliga outfit, making the deal far from straightforward.

Additionally, questions remain over whether Zinchenko’s playing style fits into Dortmund manager Nuri Şahin’s tactical setup, as the Ukrainian offers a different profile compared to Veiga.

As the transfer window progresses, Dortmund faces key decisions in strengthening their squad, with Zinchenko remaining a viable, yet complex, option.
