Royal Spanish Football Federation

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially announced the contract extension of national team head coach Luis de la Fuente. The new agreement will keep him in charge of La Roja until 2028.

Since taking over as head coach, de la Fuente has overseen 28 matches, leading Spain to 24 victories, with just 2 defeats and 2 draws. Under his guidance, Spain has enjoyed tremendous success, winning the UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2023 UEFA Nations League.

The contract renewal solidifies Spain’s faith in de la Fuente’s leadership as they look to build on their recent triumphs and prepare for upcoming major tournaments, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

De la Fuente, who previously managed Spain’s youth teams, has been credited with integrating fresh talent into the squad while maintaining the team’s signature style of possession-based football.
