West Ham United officials confirmed that talks with Shakhtar Donetsk are indeed ongoing

The Claret and Hugh portal, dedicated to all things West Ham United, has provided an update on the situation surrounding Shakhtar Donetsk's reported interest in the young Brazilian winger, Luis Guilherme.

Late last night, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Ukrainian club had made an approach to the Premier League side, offering €15 million for the 18-year-old. However, no official offer has been put forward yet.

Guilherme joined West Ham just a year ago for a hefty €25 million but has only featured in five matches since his arrival. Many football pundits have expressed concerns, suggesting that selling the promising young talent for a significant loss of €10 million after just one season would be a questionable decision for the London club.

In response to inquiries about the potential sale of Guilherme, West Ham United officials confirmed that talks with Shakhtar Donetsk are indeed ongoing. However, they emphasized that no concrete offers have been received so far.

It is worth noting that Shakhtar may be looking to replace their right-winger, Alexander Zubkov, who could be heading out the door. As the transfer window draws to a close, their pursuit of Guilherme makes perfect sense as they look to bolster their squad with a fresh attacking option.
