Montpellier - Lyon 1:4

In the 22nd round of Ligue 1, Lyon traveled to face bottom-dwellers Montpellier and knew they could not afford to slip up if they were to stay in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

Lyon handled the task with ease. Georges Mikautadze opened the scoring just three minutes into the match. However, Coulibaly equalized for Montpellier just before halftime.

But Montpellier failed to show up for the second half. Within ten minutes of the restart, Nouma and Tolisso helped Lyon pull ahead by two goals. Then, in the 73rd minute, the evergreen Lacazette sealed the win with a stunning strike, making it 4-1.

This convincing victory propelled Lyon into fifth place, just one point behind the fourth spot, which qualifies for the Champions League qualifiers.
