Sheikh Jassim remains firmly interested in acquiring Manchester United

Sheikh Jassim from Qatar remains firmly interested in acquiring Manchester United, despite the club's current ownership situation, reports Center Devils, a publication close to the club.

Back in 2023, Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe were both in the race to secure investment in the club. However, the Glazer family decided to maintain control, turning down Sheikh Jassim's offer to buy Manchester United outright. Instead, they made Ratcliffe a minority shareholder and gave him control over the footballing operations of the club.

It seems, however, that Sheikh Jassim has not lost interest in the Manchester United project and is willing to invest significantly if the Glazers or Ratcliffe are open to selling their shares. Different options are reportedly being considered, such as keeping Ratcliffe involved while purchasing the Glazers’ 72.3% stake in the club.

"The goal remains the same: to remove the Glazers," a Qatari source close to Sheikh Jassim is quoted as saying.
