It’s starting to feel inevitable — Real Madrid are moving closer to securing the free transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos have officially sent a five-year contract to the player's representatives for review and agreement. The deal would bring the England international to the Santiago Bernabéu on a free transfer this summer.

Alexander-Arnold’s current contract with Liverpool expires in June, and since January he has been free to negotiate terms with foreign clubs. Despite Liverpool holding onto hopes of extending his stay, the situation is growing increasingly tense.
