The move of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester City has been voted the best transfer of the 2025 Premier League summer window, according to a survey conducted by The Athletic among 20 football agents.

Donnarumma’s transfer received five votes — a quarter of all respondents — putting it comfortably ahead of the competition. In second place was another deal involving City, this time on the outgoing side: Jack Grealish’s loan move to Everton, which earned four votes. Completing the top three was Viktor Gyökeres’s switch from Sporting Lisbon to Arsenal, backed by two agents.

The remaining participants each cast a single vote for various other Premier League transfers, reflecting the diversity of opinion across the market.
