AC Milan have reportedly made the decision to part company with head coach Sérgio Conceição after a disappointing campaign both domestically and in Europe, according to Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com.

The Portuguese manager was appointed in December as a mid-season replacement for Paulo Fonseca, but he has failed to turn the tide. Despite lifting the Italian Super Cup in January, Milan have suffered five defeats in their last 13 Serie A matches and were eliminated from the Champions League by Feyenoord in the first knockout round.

The Rossoneri currently sit ninth in the Serie A standings, four points adrift of the European qualification places — a position far below expectations for the seven-time European champions.

Although Conceição’s contract runs until 2026, Milan are expected to terminate the agreement this summer as part of a major shake-up. The club’s newly appointed sporting director, Fabio Paratici, is reportedly already leading the search for a replacement.

One leading candidate is Roberto De Zerbi, currently in charge at Olympique Marseille. Paratici has reportedly met with the Italian coach's representatives to explore a potential move to San Siro.
