Cristiano Ronaldo Happy in Al Nasr

Rumors of a potential reunion between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at Inter Miami have officially been put to rest — and by none other than transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Recent speculation had suggested that Ronaldo might consider a short-term switch to the MLS club for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2025, especially since his current team, Al-Nassr, failed to qualify. However, according to Romano, the idea was never even close to reality.

"There have been no talks," Romano stated. "Cristiano Ronaldo has no intention of joining Inter Miami. These rumors are completely unfounded."

While fans may have dreamt of seeing the two footballing icons share the same shirt for the first time, Ronaldo remains firmly focused on his own goals — quite literally. One of them is rewriting the history books: the Portuguese superstar currently sits on 931 official goals, and is determined to reach the mythical 1,000-goal mark. Staying in Saudi Arabia, where he continues to score at a prolific rate, gives him the best chance of achieving that.

Joining Inter Miami might have been good for nostalgia — but for Ronaldo, it’s legacy over sentiment.
