While clubs in MLS have shown strong interest, sources suggest that De Bruyne remains committed to competing at the highest level in Europe. His preference reportedly aligns with Napoli’s ambitions to reestablish themselves as a dominant force in Italian and European football.
Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s sporting director, is said to have flown to Manchester for face-to-face talks with the midfielder. However, one of the major sticking points could be wages: De Bruyne currently earns around €23 million per season at City, a figure that would need to be significantly reduced for any Serie A deal to materialize.
