Riyadh-based club is still in active negotiations, hoping to convince the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to sign a new deal

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr are making a late push to bring back global icon Cristiano Ronaldo, just days after the Portuguese star announced his departure.

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in December 2022, opted not to extend his contract and is now officially a free agent. Despite this, Romano reports that the Riyadh-based club is still in active negotiations, hoping to convince the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to sign a new deal.

Al Nassr are said to be preparing an improved contract offer for Ronaldo, while also planning a major squad overhaul. According to Romano, top summer targets include Luis Díaz (Liverpool), David Hancko (Feyenoord), and a “world-class midfielder” whose identity remains under wraps.

At 40 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to defy expectations. He ended the season as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League, netting 24 goals — a feat that only adds to his legend.

Interestingly, the timing of Ronaldo’s exit announcement came just ahead of a FIFA-sanctioned special transfer window from June 1 to June 10, designed to allow the 32 participating clubs in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2025 to register new signings.
