Napoli have pulled off one of the biggest coups of the summer by signing Belgian superstar Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer. The former Manchester City midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the reigning Serie A champions, with an option to extend for a further season.

The club made the announcement with flair on social media, sharing an image of De Bruyne seated on a throne with the caption: “King Kev is here!” — a bold welcome for a player many regard as one of the best midfielders of his generation.

De Bruyne, 33, leaves the Premier League after a glittering decade, where he scored 108 goals and recorded countless assists in 422 appearances across all competitions. His time at Manchester City was decorated with multiple Premier League titles, domestic cups, and the UEFA Champions League trophy.

Napoli’s summer business is turning heads across Europe. De Bruyne becomes their second marquee free-agent signing this window, following the arrival of Canadian striker Jonathan David from Lille.
