Celtic’s 2025/26 Scottish Premiership Fixtures: Champions Begin Title Defence

Celtic

After storming to the Scottish Premiership title last season with a commanding 17-point lead over rivals Rangers, Celtic enter the 2025/26 campaign full of confidence and expectation. With the Bhoys reasserting domestic dominance under their current regime, the new season offers a fresh opportunity to build on that momentum and aim for even more silverware.

The campaign kicks off at Celtic Park on 3 August against St Mirren — a fixture that marks the beginning of what the Parkhead faithful hope will be another memorable year. All eyes will quickly turn to the first Old Firm derby of the season, scheduled for 31 August at Ibrox — a match that always carries massive emotional and competitive weight.

The Bhoys begin their Scottish Premiership journey at home to St Mirren on 3 August — a favourable opener at Parkhead where the atmosphere should be electric. The first major test comes early, though, as they travel to Ibrox for the season’s first Old Firm clash against Rangers on 31 August. A result there could set the tone for what is expected to be another tightly contested title race.

Key Derby Dates and Title-Defining Fixtures

Celtic fans will have all eyes on the traditional festive showdown, with Rangers coming to Celtic Park on 3 January. That high-stakes clash will kick off 2026 in dramatic fashion, just days after home ties against Dundee United and Motherwell close out a packed December schedule.

The second trip to Ibrox is scheduled for 28 February — a match that could have major implications in the title race.

Festive Period and Spring Push

As always, the festive period will test squad depth and momentum. Celtic face three matches in ten days — away to Motherwell (30 December), away to Livingston (27 December), and a home fixture against Aberdeen on 20 December — all before the big New Year derby.
