Danny Röhl arrives in Glasgow to take charge of Rangers
According to Fabrizio Romano, Danny Röhl has arrived in Glasgow to finalise his contract as the new Rangers head coach.
The 36-year-old German is set to replace Russell Martin at Ibrox after the club’s disastrous start to the season - just one win in eight league matches has left Rangers languishing in sixth place in the Scottish Premiership.
Röhl was not the leading candidate initially, but after a series of rejections from other targets, the board opted to appoint the former Sheffield Wednesday boss. His name had been considered as early as May, though the directors at the time reportedly deemed him “too young and inexperienced” for the job.
Now, Röhl is being tasked with rescuing the club’s season and restoring order at Ibrox. The German tactician spent the past two years managing Sheffield Wednesday, having previously worked as an assistant at Bayern Munich and with the German national team.
