Romano: PSG Closing In on Deal for Bournemouth’s Illya Zabarnyi
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that Paris Saint-Germain are edging closer to a breakthrough in negotiations with AFC Bournemouth over the signing of Ukrainian centre-back Illya Zabarnyi.
According to Romano, PSG had originally hoped to secure Zabarnyi during the first phase of the summer transfer window in time for him to feature at the FIFA Club World Cup. However, their efforts were stalled after talks with the Premier League side broke down.
Now, with fresh negotiations underway, optimism is growing in the French capital. Romano notes that talks have resumed and are progressing in the right direction for the reigning UEFA Champions League winners.
The potential deal is expected to exceed €60 million, though the final fee could hinge on PSG’s performance at the Club World Cup – a tournament the Parisians are determined to dominate.
