Kepa Arrizabalaga Joins Arsenal in £5m Move from Chelsea
Kepa Arrizabalaga has officially left Chelsea after seven years at Stamford Bridge, signing a deal with city rivals Arsenal in a transfer worth £5 million, according to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The 29-year-old Spanish goalkeeper, who had joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for a then world-record fee for a goalkeeper, announced his departure in an emotional statement on social media, calling time on a period he described as “unforgettable.”
Arsenal confirmed the signing with a simple but bold statement on Twitter: “Here to raise the levels. Kepa Arrizabalaga is a Gunner.”

Kepa had been out on loan over the past two seasons, first with Real Madrid during the 2023–24 campaign and most recently at AFC Bournemouth for the 2024–25 season. His move to the Emirates Stadium signals a fresh start and a new challenge in the Premier League, this time under the leadership of Mikel Arteta.
