Official: Jonathan David Signs Five-Year Deal with Juventus
Jonathan David has officially joined Juventus on a five-year contract, marking one of the biggest free agent signings of the summer. The Canadian international moves to Turin after his deal with Ligue 1 side Lille expired at the end of the 2024/25 season.
In an official statement, Juventus announced: “Jonathan David is officially a Juventus player! The 25-year-old Canadian striker has signed a contract with the club that runs until 30 June 2030.”
The forward will reportedly earn €6 million per season plus performance-related bonuses — a strong indication of the club’s confidence in his attacking prowess.
David began his professional career with Belgian side K.A.A. Gent before moving to Lille in 2020. In his debut season in France, he helped fire the team to a stunning Ligue 1 title, netting 13 goals. A year later, he lifted the Trophée des Champions (French Super Cup) with the club in 2021.
Across five seasons with Lille, David scored an impressive 109 goals in 200 appearances — making him one of the most consistent and prolific strikers in European football.
On the international stage, Jonathan David has been a key figure for the Canada national team, amassing 36 goals in 67 appearances and playing a pivotal role in their recent resurgence on the world football scene.
