Musiala has sustained a fracture to the fibula in his left leg

FC Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is expected to be sidelined for up to five months after suffering a serious leg injury during the Club World Cup quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain, which ended in a 2-0 win for the French side.

The 21-year-old German international went down late in the first half following a heavy challenge from PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Musiala was in clear agony and had to be stretchered off the field.

According to Bild, Musiala has sustained a fracture to the fibula in his left leg. Early medical reports suggest a recovery period of between four and five months — a devastating blow for both Bayern Munich and the Germany national team, especially with the start of the Bundesliga season and international fixtures looming.
