Artem Dovbyk edging closer to AC Milan amid transfer speculation
According to Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk is now more likely to join AC Milan than any other club, as the Serie A giants intensify their pursuit of the highly-rated forward.
The 26-year-old, currently on the books of AS Roma, has been linked with several potential moves this summer, but Milan appear to be leading the race. Interestingly, Dovbyk's former club, Girona FC, are also closely monitoring the situation. Under the terms of his previous transfer, the La Liga side are entitled to a significant percentage of any future resale — a clause that gives them a vested interest in his next move.
As previously reported, newly appointed AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is a long-time admirer of Dovbyk and has personally requested the club to initiate talks. Sources indicate that the Rossoneri have already opened negotiations, and could even consider offloading recent signing Santiago Giménez to make room for the Ukrainian international.
The stance of AS Roma remains unclear. While Dovbyk is reportedly not on the club’s untouchable list, his agent, Oleksii Lundovskyi, recently stated that Roma are not actively planning to sell the striker during the current transfer window. However, with Milan pushing hard and Allegri eager to reshape his attacking options, things could change rapidly in the coming weeks.
