Veteran striker Edin Džeko has officially joined Fiorentina on a free transfer, marking his return to Serie A after a brief spell in Turkey with Fenerbahçe.

The 39-year-old Bosnian forward, formerly of Manchester City, AS Roma, and Inter Milan, signed a one-year deal with the Viola. According to reports, he will earn €2 million per season plus performance-related bonuses.

Proven Goalscorer Back in Italy

Džeko was a key figure for Fenerbahçe last season, finishing as the club’s second-top scorer in the Turkish Süper Lig with 14 goals in 35 appearances. Despite his age, the Bosnian target man has shown no signs of slowing down.

His return to Italy brings with it a wealth of experience and a proven track record: across his spells at Roma and Inter, Džeko netted 107 goals and delivered 50 assists in Serie A.
