Liverpool are reportedly preparing a sensational offer for Newcastle United

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a sensational offer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, with sources in the English media and renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming serious interest from the Merseyside giants.

The proposed fee could reach £130 million, which would not only smash Liverpool’s transfer record but also make Isak one of the most expensive forwards in world football.

Isak, 25, is under contract with Newcastle until the summer of 2028. According to The Times, the Swedish international’s agent recently held talks with Magpies manager Eddie Howe regarding a potential contract extension — a deal that would reportedly make Isak the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

Should negotiations with Newcastle collapse, reports indicate that Liverpool could turn their attention to Hugo Ekitike, currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Alexander Isak has been in scintillating form during the 2024/25 campaign, netting 27 goals and contributing 6 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
